Recap: Ellen DeGeneres has a coming out party and the television community has a field day with it. Some say this is a good thing and others were very against it. Ultimately, the show goes on and Disney, who produces the show wanted to be cautious and not offend any viewers. So for the most part, the show was scripted fairly dead center of left or right. Once it was aired and things have moved on as the one comedian, Kate Clinton, said, “all will be well.”

Comment: I can recall when this happened and the media was all over it. For me it was no big deal to find out that she was coming out about being gay. Everyone pretty much knew it all ready if they even had a clue. It became much more of a media blitz and advertising smorgasbord to make more all might dollars. Now, if you look at what she has done and where she is at, the top of her game with her show, it seems to have all worked out.
