Everyday Pornography - Jane Caputi, pg 434-450

Recap: Jane Caputi states that she is not talking about X-rated pornography but instead the type found in advertising. However, she continues into what is considered actual pornography later in the article. A lot of the advertising she mentions is the type that is demeaning towards women. She shows how men are portrayed being in control and secure of who they are while women are shown to be subservient and demeaned.

Comment: Sex sells will be the answer from the advertising agencies that produce the ads she is referring too. As for the other non X-rated pornography I think she is a little off base since a lot is considered pornography and some of it to the extreme. Over all not a overly exciting article but it was informative.
